Zika testing expands in Qld
EVERYONE tested for dengue virus in Queensland will also be tested for Zika virus as authorities ramp up surveillance in a bid to avoid any outbreaks.
As reported in MO earlier this month, GPs working in areas where the prime Zika vector Aedes aegypti is found are now integral to surveillance.
Dengue outbreaks occur regularly in north Queensland but so far the only cases of Zika have been imported.
