Communicating with children
Effective communication with children needs to be both specific and descriptive.
She came into my consulting room with her five-year-old son, who headed straight for the toy box. But before he could reach it, she bellowed at him, “Don’t you make a mess of those toys!”
Over the next 15 minutes, she must have shouted at her son every 30 seconds or so, and about everything you could possibly imagine.
