Five diet tips to prevent anaemia

ANAEMIA can be caused by not eating enough nutrients such as iron, vitamin B12 and folate; not absorbing these nutrients due to food inhibitors or illness; not meeting excessive needs during pregnancy or growth; or depletion through blood loss from illness, surgery or injury. Being female, pregnant and/or a teenager means higher iron requirements.
