The importance and challenges involved in providing health advice to travellers visiting friends and relatives overseas was the subject of a presentation by Dr Anita Heywood from the University of NSW at the 2014 Congress of the International Society of Travel Medicine.1
Dr Heywood has recently published the results of a study of Sydney GPs' perception of risk for travellers visiting friends and relatives in the Journal of Travel Medicine.2
