What is a food allergy?
A FOOD allergy occurs when the immune system reacts to an allergen (a protein) in a food such as peanut, tree nut, egg, cow’s milk and/or seafood.

Reactions can occur within 20 minutes to two hours of eating these foods and can rapidly progress to life threatening anaphylaxis.
