The widespread use of antibiotics in farming and without prescriptions is producing a dangerous cocktail.

Across the globe, bacterial resistance to antibiotics is increasing. This is particularly the case in countries where antibiotic stewardship is underdeveloped, or even unknown.
Similarly in these countries, antibiotics are freely available without prescription, and are also being used in food and livestock production — as they are in Australia.
