Don’t replace the Kingswood with a late model lemon

Last week the Health Minister made his case for Medicare reforms by comparing our public health insurance system to a Holden Kingswood. The idea being that the Kingswood is an out-of-date car that would no longer meet the needs of the modern Australian.

Fair enough, especially as Holden’s American owners have just decided to quit Australia and stop making cars here.

If we want a 2014 equivalent of a Holden, perhaps we should be looking at a Toyota or a Ford ... Oh wait ... they’re upping sticks and leaving too.
