Delivering partner therapy

Patient-delivered partner therapy (PDPT) is a method of contact tracing or partner notification where treatment is prescribed for both the patient diagnosed with a sexually transmitted infection and his or her unseen sexual partner/s. The patient then delivers the treatment to their partner/s.

The success of traditional contact tracing methods rely upon the index patient’s motivation and ability to notify sexual partners and the partner’s motivation and ability to access services for testing and treatment.

These factors may
