Diabetes programs scrapped by Dutton get reprieve
Diabetes programs axed in the Budget by Federal health minister Peter Dutton have been given a reprieve by state governments.
The Queensland government has reinstated $14 million to continue funding of programs in the National Partnership Agreement on Preventive Health, which were cancelled by the Federal Coalition in the recent budget. The programs, which included projects co-ordinated by groups such as the Diabetic Association of Queensland had been funded by the federal government until 2015.
Following their cancellation, the Queensland premier Lawrence Springborg said funding would be provided by the state
