A fork in the road
THE past 10 years have seen significant changes in general practice training.
The first major shake-up to the system was regionalisation of training providers. Then, as well as being able to choose were they trained, registrars were able to choose how they training with ACRRM as well as the RACGP offering a path to vocational registration.
There’s no other example like it in the country – two medical standards bodies competing for the same registrars.
And GP registrars will consider which pathway will best serve them in their future careers.
