A tasty way to help patients swallow pills
CHILDREN and adults alike may benefit from the idea sent in by Dr Trevor Sauer from Aspley, Queensland.
For people who have difficulty swallowing tablets, especially bitter ones, Dr Sauer suggests they chew some banana then inset the tablet into the mushy bolus of food, still inside the mouth, and swallow the lot.
Alternative foods give similar results for those not partial to the fruit.
You are reminded that parenthood is a unique calling when it involves you poking around in someone else’s mouth searching for a bit of soggy banana!
