GP workforce crisis in UK sparks incentive scheme

The growing shortage of GPs in the UK has pressured the NHS into launching a £10 million scheme designed to urgently boost numbers.

Under the plan, existing doctors will be encouraged to delay or come out of retirement and newly qualified doctors will be given a “golden hello” if they opt for general practice.
