Grandmother loses bid to give birth to grandchild

A British grandmother has been prevented from using her dead daughter’s eggs to start a second family.

The High Court turned down her request on the grounds that it may not be what her daughter wanted.
However, the 59-year-old women says her only child, whose eggs were frozen before chemotherapy for bowel cancer, “wanted her genes to be carried on”.
