Anh is a 22-year-old Vietnamese student who presents to his GP with a one-week history of fever, sore throat and night sweats.
He returned from Vietnam two weeks ago, having spent five weeks visiting family.
While abroad, he had receptive anal intercourse, using a condom, with a local male partner.
His last sexual health screen was five months ago in Australia and was unremarkable.
He is HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) naive and had no pre-travel vaccinations or malaria prophylaxis during travel.
