Make your mark where it matters most. RFDS (Queensland Section) is seeking experienced GPs to join our Primary Health Care (PHC) team, delivering vital care to rural and remote communities across North West, Central West, and Far North Queensland.

Our bases

  • Charleville - Live in or FIFO
  • Mount Isa - Live in or FIFO
  • Cairns - Live in only

Our rosters
We offer flexible full-time and part-time options to fit your lifestyle. Choose from:

  • Full-time: 16 shifts/month
  • Fractional: e.g. week-on/week-off, or one week every four weeks
  • FIFO travel days included as paid time
  • The PHC team works Monday to Friday, day shifts only

We’re looking for GPs who have:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Medical Practitioner
  • Fellowship with RACGP or ACRRM (Senior Registrars welcome to apply)
  • 5–7 years of relevant clinical experience
  • Sound primary health and emergency care knowledge
  • Experience in rural/remote medicine and cultural competence with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities

Registrar Training Opportunities

RFDS supports training toward Fellowship with RACGP and ACRRM. Registrars will work with their Medical Lead to create a training plan that ensures a broad range of learning and hands-on experience.
