About Directions Health Services

Directions Health Services is a NFP organisation offering a wide range of holistic health services, including primary care, alcohol and other drug support, and mental health services. Our goal is to improve the wellbeing of people with complex needs through trauma-informed, person-centred care.

Our primary healthcare team, Althea Wellness Centre, provides bulk billed GP services, nurse practitioner care, psychiatry, psychology, pharmacology, and counselling offering both in-clinic and outreach services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver general medical care to clients with diverse health and social needs.
  • Coordinate care for chronic conditions and facilitate specialist referrals.
  • Prescribe pharmacotherapy, including opiate replacement therapy (training provided if needed) and educate clients on healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Collaborate with the Althea team such as participating in team meetings and support outreach initiatives for at-risk groups.

What We’re Looking For

  • A flexible, compassionate GP who values working with vulnerable populations.
  • AHPRA-registered Medical Practitioner with RACGP Fellowship (or equivalent).
  • Experience in general practice, ideally with at-risk or complex clients and knowledge of chronic disease, AOD and mental health.
  • Commitment to trauma-informed, culturally respectful care.
  • Willingness to become an authorised opiate replacement prescriber
  • Current medical indemnity insurance

Additional Requirements are Working with Vulnerable People Check, National Police Check, Current CPR certification
