Alternaleaf is Australia’s largest medicinal cannabis telehealth provider, delivering safe and trusted services for over 200,000 patients. Founded in 2021 as part of Montu, our goal is to help Australians access medicinal cannabis with ease via telehealth consultations with Ahpra-listed nurses and doctors.

Our doctors combine evidence-based practice with innovation to support thousands of patients across Australia. We're looking for experienced Medical Practitioners to join our telehealth team on a part-time or full time basis in permanent or independent contractor roles. This is an Australia-based, fully work-from-home position - our scheduling is flexible to fit your other commitments.

You will:

  • Deliver high-quality telehealth consultations across a diverse patient base
  • Manage clinical assessments, prescriptions (S4 & S8), and follow-up consults
  • Work closely with nurses and doctor support teams to streamline care
  • Maintain complete documentation and compliance in a digital-first environment
  • Operate effectively in a structured roster with peak-hour availability
  • Embrace digital tools to optimise patient outcomes and service efficiency

We’re seeking dependable doctors who thrive in fast-paced, digital-first environments and want to make a lasting impact in an evolving clinical space. The consult rate is $60 per consult, 4-6 consults per hour, with incentives for greater availability.

You bring:

  • MBBS or equivalent and an unrestricted AHPRA registration (Minimum PGY4)
  • Excellent time management with the ability to confidently manage 10 minute consults (4-6 patients/hour)
  • Familiarity with privacy laws, RTPM, S8 regulation, and medico-legal obligations
  • Strong clinical judgement, with an evidence-based and harm-reduction mindset
  • Strong documentation/admin skills
  • Experience working with multiple digital platforms and navigating tech efficiently
  • Punctual, reliable and responsive qualities – you value team collaboration and patient continuity

Initial Training:

Successful applicants will need to be available for two initial paid consecutive training days from Monday to Thursday within core business hours in their first week. We will also support you through and pay for your AP licence.Â
