The patient presented with a three-day history of penile swelling and urinary retention.

A patient escaped serious complications after doctors resorted to an angle grinder to remove a wrench that had entrapped his penis for three weeks.

The 61-year-old Indonesian man, with a history of uncontrolled diabetes, presented with a three-day history of penile swelling and urinary retention with a wrench hooked around the base of his penis.

“Three weeks previously, the patient claimed he dreamt of inserting his penis into a wrench,” report the case authors from Dr Soetomo General Academic Hospital in Surabaya.

“When the patient awoke, the wrench was already hooked to his penis.”
