Doctors have found the unusual source of this woman’s abdominal pain: her IUD making its way into her bladder.

The 31-year-old in Uzbekistan presented with lower abdominal pain, dysuria, episodes of gross haematuria, fatigue and reduced appetite for several months.

She had undergone several courses of treatment for presumed chronic cystitis without success.

On presentation, her vital signs were stable. Examination revealed mild suprapubic tenderness.
