Medical Must-See: Stinky fruit leads to partial blindness

The tropical fruit durian — loved for its taste despite its pungent smell — has left a Malaysian woman with bilateral vision loss in the first reported case of its kind.
The 62-year-old was brought to ED after being struck in the face and knocked out by a falling durian while picking the large thorn-covered fruit in her orchard.
She reported bilateral vision loss as well as multiple puncture wounds, soft tissue swelling and laceration of her right upper eyelid.
The visual acuity in both eyes was light perception, reported the Kuala Lumpur–based doctors in Cureus.
