Doctors from Adnan Menderes University ED in Turkey sent her for a chest X-ray, which revealed that the prongs of the fork were in the oesophagus and the handle in the gastric lumen.

Her vital signs and laboratory tests, including serum beta-human chorionic gonadotropin, were normal.
