Jaw-dropping 526 teeth removed from child’s mouth

His doctors believed radiation from mobile phone towers was the root of the problem

The tooth fairy was working overtime in India recently after doctors surgically removed hundreds of teeth embedded in a young boy’s jaw.

Swelling in the seven-year-old’s right cheek prompted his parents to take him to the Saveetha Dental College, in Chennai, where an X-ray and CT revealed the dental anomaly.

In a procedure that lasted almost five hours, surgeons drilled down into the patient’s lower jaw bone and discovered a sack-like structure containing a staggering 526 teeth in total.

“The teeth were in different sizes that varied between 0.1mm and 15mm,” head of maxillofacial pathologist Dr Prathibha Ramani told the Times of India.
