1 in 3 junior docs fear errors due to fatigue

Nearly two-thirds of doctors-in-training worry about making a clinical error due to fatigue, while many are too intimidated to report incidents of bullying and discrimination, a NSW survey shows.
Results from the 2019 Hospital Health Check Survey of 1958 interns, residents and registrars shows around 62% are concerned about making a clinical error due to fatigue caused by the hours worked at hospital.
The survey, conducted by the AMA (NSW) and Australian Salaried Medical Officers’ Federation NSW (ASMOF NSW) Alliance, also found:
