$110 per 10-minute consult on offer for pop-up GP respiratory clinics
Practices will have to commit to stepping up within five calendar days if called upon
A new wave of GP respiratory clinics will be offered $110 MBS rebates for 10-minute consultations but only during periods of “activation”.
After announcing that permanent respiratory clinics would close in March, the Federal Government has began its search for a new batch of pop-up clinics that will be called upon in response to COVID-19 outbreaks or a “respiratory outbreak of another disease that creates significant strain on the health system”.
The old respiratory clinics can apply to be part of the new system, with the government aiming to get 150 GP practices on board.
The practices will not receive additional rebates while in standby mode.
