118-year-old practice faces closure because no GP will take it on

Dr Ian Kettle and Dr David Snedden hoped they would find a GP to take over when they retired.

“I have an angel sitting above me.

“It was given to me by a patient who underwent a double lung transplant, an incredibly brave woman,” Dr David Snedden says.

“Some of the things we watch people go through — hard times where they might not have made it — those are the memories that count.”

Dr Snedden and his friend Dr Ian Kettle have run the Wollumbin Street Medical Centre in Murwillumbah, a town of 10,000 people in the NSW Northern Rivers, for almost 40 years.
