Another impressive group of GPs transforming the lives of their patients and communities have been recognised in this year's Australia Day honours.

They include leading Indigenous doctors; those who campaigned for the treatment of Vietnam veterans exposed to Agent Orange; and a GP who took one day of sick leave during a 55-year medical career.
