Men experiencing grief following a miscarriage feel overlooked by health professionals, who tend to focus mainly on their partner’s needs, Monash University researchers say.

When miscarriage occurs, most men feel a lack of support or acknowledgement from doctors, other healthcare providers and their social networks, they've found.

“It is imperative that men’s loss, as a father and a parent, is also recognised and acknowledged by healthcare providers and within men’s social networks.”
