4 reasons diagnostic radiologists have higher rates of burnout

Diagnostic radiologists have one of the highest rates of burnout of all specialists, according to US researchers, who say the fact that they toil alone, mostly in darkened rooms, is possibly one of the reasons why.
In the 2020 Medscape National Physician Burnout and Suicide Report, 46% of radiologists surveyed reported burnout, placing them near the top of the list for specialties.
This may be because they are one of the most socially isolated and sedentary of the medical professions, note the authors of a review in Current Problems in Diagnostic Radiology
