It’s widely hated by parents of small children, and now, daylight savings is in the sights of US sleep disorder doctors, who argue it should be ditched due to an increase in stroke, MI risk and interrupted sleep patterns.

Writing in JAMA Neurology, doctors from sleep clinics at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Tennessee and University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine advocate for daylight savings time (DST) to be axed.
