With the Omicron variant yet to peak, GPs are struggling to get a toilet break, let alone plan for the months ahead, after being hit hard by staff shortages and unprecedented demand.
Associate Professor Charlotte Hespe says doctors can get through the coming months by drawing on their strong peer community for advice and support.
“It’s like healthcare in that we know preventive healthcare is better than reactive healthcare,” the RACGP NSW/ACT faculty chair told 6minutes.
