More than 500 general practices have taken delivery of the Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine in a step forward for the troubled national rollout.

Associate Professor Charlotte Hespe says her practice in Sydney is fielding hundreds of calls from patients wanting to book in for the mRNA vaccine.

“There are outrageously high levels of demand. Everybody is very excited,” the chair of the RACGP’s NSW/ACT faculty said.

“Sadly, some people are also quite rude while our receptionists are basically overwhelmed.”
