60-day scripts could encourage govt cuts to GP care plans, claims letter from pharmacists

GPs who write 60-day scripts are giving the Federal Government reasons to cut chronic disease care plan rebates, a letter from pharmacists is warning.
The Community and Pharmacy Support Group is continuing to fight the Federal Government’s 60-day dispensing policy with a a mass mail-out to GPs.
The final version of the letter claims that 60-day dispensing data will show the Federal Government how many patients with ongoing conditions are stable.
It then asks GPs whether this will “allow the health department to come back and reduce the billing fee associated with care plans”.
