Findings in US veterans show that, for older men at least, outcomes are significantly worse than with seasonal influenza
US researchers have come up with a plethora of statistics that debunk beliefs COVID-19 is no more severe than seasonal influenza.
They used admission and outcome data for more than 3600 people (94% men, mean age 69) who were admitted to veterans’ hospitals for COVID-19 between 1 February and 17 June 2020.
