95-year-old GP keeps his home after company’s illegal eviction attempt: Supreme Court

A 95-year-old GP has prevailed after an investment company tried to evict him from his home, spied on him and cut off his electricity.
In a case reminiscent of the iconic film The Castle, Dr Kenneth Doust successfully took on Riveaux Holdings in the NSW Supreme Court.
Dr Doust had sold his rural property to Riveaux Holdings for $2.2 million in 2020 under the condition that he could live in a house on the property for $1 a year, as long as it remained his permanent residence.
This was in Central Tilba, almost 300km south of Wollongong.
