This is the last day before we shut down for the summer break.

A few days ago, in an attempt to find the spirit of Christmas, I once more bought a cinema ticket to watch It’s a Wonderful Life.

For those unfamiliar with the film, it is a black-and-white James Stewart classic about a man whose life falls into despair.

With his ambitions thwarted by circumstance, protagonist George Bailey finds himself trapped in small-town America, menaced by money troubles.
