The results sparked a standing ovation from a room of oncologists, many of whom grabbed their phones to photograph or video the slideshow.

What the slideshow showed was a graph tracking survival progression for patients with previously treated metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma who received a new protein inhibitor, daraxonrasib.

The treatment group had, on average, survived 13 months — twice as long as those given chemotherapy.
