An unexpected concussion diagnosis followed by a ”profoundly different” rehabilitation plan has inspired a leading GP to hold a seminar on updates in managing brain injury.
Dr Mukesh Haikerwal is talking about the time one of his clinic’s patients received the diagnosis from a leading sports doctor which led him to organise a Brain Injury Australia seminar on concussion this Saturday.
“What he did, from my view, was so profoundly different — thoughtful, caring, cautious — compared to what happened in the past that to me it was a story worth telling.”
The patient had a fall while playing hockey.
