They've been spat on and branded 'murderers'

Doctors and nurses at an abortion clinic are wearing body cameras to deter abuse and harassment from pro-life protesters.

The ‘40 Days for Life’ campaign outside Perth’s Marie Stopes clinic has triggered renewed calls for the introduction of exclusion zones in WA.

The clinic says it has also installed CCTV cameras as staff report being spat on and branded ‘murderers’, as well as having holy water thrown at their cars.

Medical director Dr Philip Goldstone says protest activity “always escalates” during the Christian religious holiday of Lent, due to protesters obtaining a permit to be outside the clinic for the 40 days of the Easter holy period.
