Rural generalist Dr Sarah Chalmers has been elected ACRRM’s next president.

Dr Chalmers, who works in the remote northwest Queensland town of Winton, is the first ACRRM president who went through the college’s own training pathway.

Created 23 years ago, the college has had 11 previous presidents but all attained ACRRM fellowship through grandfathering arrangements.

“This is a real changing of the guard,” says out-going president Dr Ewen McPhee.
