Activists target GPs with ‘acute anxiety’ vax-exemption ploy

Anti-lockdown group Reignite Democracy claims GPs will issue medical exemptions if a patient reports anxiety triggered by the 'threat' of vaccination

An anti-lockdown group is urging its 50,000 followers to avoid occupational vaccine mandates by telling their GP they have “acute major anxiety caused by the threat of the vaccine”.

According to Reignite Democracy Australia, GPs will then lodge a temporary exemption form with the Australian Immunisation Register.

The group’s founder Monica Smit, who was jailed for two weeks in September after being arrested for allegedly inciting members to protest COVID-19 measures, claims the tactic is not a loophole but a “legitimate reason to be granted a vaccine exemption”.

She said the suggestion was based on advice provided by “a doctor who has given over 300 exemptions already”.
