Aged care crisis: Govt commits half a billion dollars

The Federal Government has announced hundreds of millions of dollars in funding for home care packages.
It has also promised that no one under the age of 45 will be living in an aged care home by 2022.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced on Monday that $537 million in new aged care funding would be delivered in response to the “shocking and disturbing” findings of the aged care royal commission’s interim report.
Describing the royal commission as a “very uncomfortable exercise for all Australians”, Mr Morrison said it had highlighted the fact that more must be done to improve support for older Australians.
