A doctor and nurse in the UK, who had to cancel their wedding plans because of the pandemic, have come up with a novel solution by getting married at the hospital where they both work.

The pair, Dr Annalan Navaratnam, 30, and emergency nurse Jann Tipping, 34, tied the knot at a historic chapel at St Thomas’ Hospital in London.

The couple had planned to marry in August in London, but decided to cancel due to difficulties for their families having to travel from Northern Ireland and Sri Lanka.

They both work at St Thomas’, the hospital where Prime Minister Boris Johnson was treated for COVID-19 in March.
