Almost no GPs will be offering the AstraZeneca vaccine by October: Fed Govt

Virtually no GP practice in the COVID-19 vaccination rollout will be administering AstraZeneca vaccines by October this year, the Federal Government has indicated.
For the first time, vaccine delivery projections, described as “allocation horizons”, have been publicly released by the new National COVID Vaccine Taskforce.
The taskforce has rubbished suggestions that the shift from the AstraZeneca vaccine is related to media scare stories and public vaccine hesitancy.
Its head Lieutenant General John Frewen stressed that he still expected all patients currently eligible for the AstraZeneca vaccine — those aged 60 or older — would be fully vaccinated over the next 12 weeks.
