Alternative medicines spruiked for coronavirus ‘protection’

Patients have been turning to traditional Chinese medicine for protection against coronavirus as the panic around the virus continues to spread.
A traditional Chinese medicine clinic in Sydney says it has begun advertising “anti-virus drinks”, after regular patients concerned about the outbreak began to request formulas to help their immunity.
The Sydney Ming Yi Tang TCM Centre, which offers herbal medicine, acupuncture and cupping therapy, launched their herbal concoction last week.
The clinic’s junior acupuncturist and herbalist Alice Yang said the drink had been concocted with herbs commonly used to defend against fever, joint pain and discomfort.
