AMA calls for nationwide policy on face masks
The AMA is urging National Cabinet, which meets on Friday, to take a consistent approach to masks in preparation for other outbreaks.
“It is now clear that masks reduce virus spread when worn in areas where there is community transmission,” said President Dr Tony Bartone.
“Masks add another layer of protection to the other significant measures of physical distancing, hand hygiene, and cough etiquette.
“Every Australian in current areas of community transmission must make mask use part of their daily routines.”
