AMA claims vindication after landslide victory in AGM vote
The federal AMA has secured a landslide victory in its fight over controversial constitutional changes designed to secure the future viability of one of its state bodies.
At Wednesday’s AGM, 95% of 2600 members who took part voted in favour of the reforms, which will allow AMA Tasmania to merge formally with the federal AMA on 1 June.
The resolution needed a 75% majority to pass.
AMA Tasmania had warned that its long-term future was in doubt, having just four staff to support its members.
