AMA crisis: Victoria, WA and SA say they will not exit like Queensland
AMA Queensland left the federation this week.
Update: After this story was published, AMA NSW said it was not leaving.
Four state AMAs have denied plans to follow Queensland and split the federation.
AMA Queensland split from the federal AMA this week after three years of failed negotiations as it fought unsuccessfully to be able to keep more than 55% of membership fees.
In 2024, AMA WA also left because of a similar cash fight, before rejoining seven months later.
