Are blood blisters the new COVID-19 foot symptom?

First it was chilblain-like lesions, now doctors are warning colleagues to be on the look out for blood-filled blisters on toes as a possible signal of COVID-19 infection.
US doctors from the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey are reporting the case of a 27-year-old woman who developed multiple bilateral bullae on the dorsa of her toes, up to 1.5cm in diameter.
They say the appearance of the atypical chilblain-like lesions highlights another of the diverse cutaneous signs that are related to COVID-19.
Her toes were oedematous with widespread erythema and, two days after an initial telehealth dermatology consultation, the blisters became haemorrhagic, the doctors report in BMJ Case Reports.
