Are junior doctors really ‘clinical marshmallows’?

The email apparently written by an administrator has sparked furore — and of course internet memes.
One of the many internet memes in the wake of ‘marshmallowgate’.

A misfired management email describing junior doctors as potential “clinical marshmallows” for placing lifestyle before career has sparked anger, an apology and, of course — internet memes.

Last week, an administrator of Newcastle’s John Hunter Hospital in NSW questioned the quality of the medical workforce in an email sent to an unintended recipient, believed to be a junior doctor.

It appeared to be in response to a workforce issue at the hospital and began: “Seriously!

“I wonder if any of them realise that they are a doctor and that this is what happens,” the email reads.
