Justice Betty King is the chair of the Voluntary Assisted Dying Review Board. She explains the role of the board in providing oversight to the assisted dying scheme being rolled out.
“The board has several roles and functions related to the oversight and monitoring of voluntary assisted dying.
This includes promoting and ensuring compliance with the Act, providing reports to Parliament, referring any potential issues or breaches to the appropriate authorities and collecting data about VAD.
